ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team was defeated by visiting Grace (Ind.) College by the score of 8-1.

The Thunder dropped all three of the doubles matches in the contest. Sophomores Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion Ind. / Central Noble) came closest to a victory in the No. 1 doubles match as they traded points with the opposition until stumbling at the end to lose 8-5.

Spirrison picked up Trine's lone victory of the afternoon in the singles portion of the competition. She took the No. 1 singles match with scores of 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).

The contest ends the fall portion of the season for the Thunder. They finish the fall with an 0-5 record.
