Orlando, Fla. -- The Trine University women's tennis team fell to Wartburg College today by the score of 6-3.

The Thunder started the contest by taking just one of the doubles matches. That victory came from the No. 1 pair of sophomores Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) who defeated the opposition 8-4.

The team would add two single's wins to the score to get to the final of 6-3. Spirrison finished the day undefeated with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 match. Junior Trista Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) got her name in the win column with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 6 match.

Trine falls to 1-6 following the loss. They will take on Emerson tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. for their next competition. The match is set to be played at the USTA National Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.
