Women's Tennis Remains Unbeaten

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team picked up their fifth win of the season with an 8-1 victory over visiting Machester University, who was hampered by missing personnel.

The Thunder came up with all three of the doubles matches in the contest to start the match off strong. Sophomore Eva Morales (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) and junior Brittany Alwine (Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble) took the No. 1 match by the score of 8-4. The No. 2 team of sophomore Bailey Pelliccia (Angola, Ind. / Angola) and junior Sherrie Riser (Anderson, Ind. / Frankton) came up with the 8-4 win. The team came up with the No. 3 win by forfeit.

Trine then took all but one of the singles matches to finish off the victory. Alwine came up with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 2 match, while freshman Alyssa Ebert (Hudson, Ind. / Prairie Heights) took the No. 5 match with the same score. Riser came up with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 match and sophomore Rylee Ramsey (Thorntown, Ind. / Western Boone) came up with the 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 4 match. The team got their final point from a forfeit in the No. 6 match.

The Thunder move to 5-0 following the win. The will host Adrian College tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 27 for a 12:00 p.m. contest.
