FREELAND, Mich. -- Freshman Jadyn Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the association announced today, Monday, April 12.
This is the second time this season a Trine tennis player has earned the honor. It is the first time Davis has received the award.
Davis played a crucial role in both of the Thunder's victories during the week.
She started the week with a pair of wins against Adrian College as the team swept the MIAA opponent 9-0. She took No. 2 doubles with the help of partner Camille Lozier (Elkhart, Ind. / Concord) by the score of 8-3 and then took No. 2 doubles 6-3, 6-2.
Then on Saturday, Davis helped the team pick up its historic victory over Saint Mary's College, the first in program history. She took No. 2 doubles 8-6 and then came up with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win in No. 2 singles as the team defeated the Belles 5-4.
