Women's Tennis Stays Undefeated with Lopsided Victory Over Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team brought home another lopsided victory after defeating Manchester College 9-0.

Two doubles teams swept their matches to open the contest including seniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) in the No. 1 match and junior Eva Morales (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) and freshman Lizzie Walker (Maumee, Ohio / Springfield) in the No. 3 match. Sophomore Jadyn Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) and freshman Bekah Trent (Harrodsburg, Ky. / Mercer County) needed a bit longer to pick up the victory, taking the No. 2 match 8-5.

Three more matches would end without Trine surrendering a set. Spirrison in the No. 1 match, Morales in the No. 4 match and Cole in the No. 5 match all won 6-0, 6-0. Davis in the No. 2 match and Trent in the No. 3 match both dropped a lone set to win 6-0, 6-1.

Freshman Kennedy Outwater (Bronson, Mich. / Bronson) rounded out the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 6 match.

The Thunder improve to 4-0 following the victory. They will continue their season when they travel to face Anderson (Ind.) University on Friday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m.
