ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team fell short of visiting Bethel University, dropping the home match 6-3.
The Thunder picked up just one point during the doubles portion of the contest to trail 2-1 heading into the singles portion of the contest. That victory came by the score of 8-5 in the No. 1 match from the pair of seniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble).
Spirrison and Cole would also account for both of the team's points in the singles portion of the match as well. Spirrison took the No. 1 singles match 6-0. Cole then took the No. 5 match 6-1, 6-3.
The match concludes the fall portion of the season for the team. The will enter the spring with a 4-2 record.
