ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Four members of the Trine University women's tennis team competed at the 2022 ITA Central Regional Championship hosted by Washington (Mo.) University.
Two Thunder competed as individuals in the main draw including senior Eva Morales and freshman Elina Locane. Both were done after two matches, but Morales opened her consolation match with a tough played set.
In the doubles main draw, freshmen Emilee Bassett and Alexis Maloney competed togther. After a first-round loss the pair won 8-4 to open the consolation round, before bowing out of the tournament with an 8-3 loss.
Bassett would also compete in the B-draw as an individual and after an opening round loss she bounced back with a hard-fought win in the consolation, 8-7 (7-3).
The event was the final for the team until their spring break trip in March. They will travel to Orlando, Fla. to face King's (Pa.) College in their next dual match scheduled for Monday, March 6.
