Women's Tennis Outmatched by Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Trine University women's tennis team was outmatched by their hosts from Hope College, falling in the match 9-0.

The doubles portion saw three lopsided matches in favor of the Flying Dutch. Sophomore Bekah Trent and freshman Elina Locane in the No. 1 match and freshmen Emilee Bassett and Alexis Maloney in the No. 2 match would both take two games in their competitions falling 8-2.

Things did not go much better in the singles portion of the day. The closest match came in the No. 5 match where Maloney fell 4-6, 2-6.

The Thunder fall to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. They will continue their season when they host Saint Mary's College on Wednesday, April 12. That dual is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
