Personal-Records Highlight DePauw Invitational

GREENCASTLE, IND.-- Four members of Trine's women's track and field team set personal-bests in their events Saturday afternoon at the DePauw Invitational, held Saturday afternoon at Blackstock Stadium.

Kayla Johnson (Bronson, Mich./Bronson) set a personal-record by three meters in the Javelin. Her throw of 26.24 meters was good enough for 12th in the event. The senior also competed in the Hammer Throw and the Discus.

Kelsey Ortiz (Swanton, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) ran a time of 20:14.65 in the 5K. That time bested her previous-best by four seconds.

Hallie Roof-Hildreth (Jasper, Mich./Sand Creek) turned in a strong performance in the Pole Vault. The sophomore vaulted a height of 8'-6.25" for her new collegiate-best vault performance.

Rounding out the personal-best performances for Trine was Kelli Hogenkamp's 1500 Meter Run. Hogenkamp (Coldwater, Ohio/Coldwater) ran a time of 6:07.75 in the event.

Trine returns to action next Saturday, Apr. 12 at the MIAA-Jamboree, held at Alma College.
