Thunder See Success in Hillsdale Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, MICH.-- The Trine women's track and field team had several successful performances in the Hillsdale Gina Relays this weekend.

Highlighting Trine's performance in the event was Trisha King's 10th-place finish in the 800 Meter Run. King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) ran a time of 2:13.80 in a field dominated by Division I runners. King was the only Division III performer to advance to the Finals of the event. Her performance placed her solidly in the middle of times turned in from Mid-American Conference runners in the event.

Sloan Davis (Charlotte, Mich./Olivet) placed ahead of several Division-I performers in the Shot Put. Davis turned in athrow of 32 feet, 8.5 inches in the event. She was also trine's best performer in the Discus with a throw of 94 feet, one inch.

Jennifer Steyer (Missouri Valley, Iowa/Missouri Valley) turned in a strong performance in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 118 feet.

Kelsey Ortiz (Swanton, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) narrowly missed a sub-20:00 5K with a time of 20:01.18.

The Hillsdale Gina Relays included performers from all NCAA Divisions, NAIA and junior colleges.

Trine returns to action for the MIAA Field Day event, which runs from May 1-2.
