Thunder in Sixth at Field Day

ALMA, MICH.-- The Trine women's track and field team is in sixth-place after the first day of events at MIAA Field Day, held at Bahlke Field.

The Thunder totaled five points in events that concluded Thursday.The top eight performers in each event earned points for their respective teams. Through six events scored, Calvin leads all teams with a score of 65.50 points.

Hallie Roof-Hildreth (Jasper, Mich./Sand Creek) turned in Trine's top finish on the day, placing fifth in the Pole Vault to earn the Thunder four points. Roof-Hildreth set a personal-record in the event by nearly a foot, vaulting a height of 9 feet, three inches. 

Sloan Davis (Charlotte, Mich./Olivet) earned Trine's other point with an eighth-place finish in the Hammer Throw. Davis' throw was good for 114 feet, five inches.

Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) also qualified with the second-fastest time in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:19.83.

MIAA Field Day concludes tomorrow.
