ALLENDALE, MICH.-- Trine's Trisha King set a new school-record in the 800-Meter Run at Grand Valley State University's Last Chance Meet, held Saturday at GVSU.
King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) ran a time of 2:12.08 to best her previous school-record by 0.18 seconds. The performance earned the junior second-place in the event. The time was better than all but one Division II performer, and nearly two seconds better than the third-place finisher.
King was the lone member of the Trine women's track and field team to compete in the event. She has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, set to be held May 23-24 at Ohio Wesleyan.
Members of the Trine track and field teams will compete in the Louisville Twilight next weekend.
