ROYAL OAK, MICH.-- Trine's Trisha King was named to the All-MIAA Track and Field team, which was released by the conference Tuesday.
King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) had a banner outdoor season for the Thunder to earn All-MIAA recognition for the second time in her Thunder career. King most-recently set a new school-record in the 800-Meter Run at Grand Valley State University's Last-Chance Meet, running a time of 2:12.08 in the event. King was named MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week for previously breaking the school-record at an event earlier in the season at GVSU. The junior also set a school-record in the 1500-Meter Run this season at the MIAA Jamboree.
King had a successful performance in MIAA Field Day, winning the 800-Meter Run at that event as well. She blew away the rest of the field, winning by over five seconds.
The successful outdoor season came on the heels of an All-American performance in the indoor track and field season. King placed fifth in the nation in the 800-Meter Run to earn All-American status in the event.
King has qualified for the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships, which will be held May 23-24 at Ohio Wesleyan.
