HILLSDALE, Mich.-- The Trine women's track and field notched several notable performances in the Hillsdale Gina Relays, hosted by Hillsdale College.
Trine's top finish came in the shot put. Kara Eck (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) picked up a ninth-place finish with a throw of 40 feet, 6.25 inches. Eck was the top Division-III performer in the event.
Hallie Roof-Hildreth (Jasper, Mich./Sand Creek) placed 12th in the javelin throw with a career-best 83 feet, 4 inch throw. Roof-Hildreth also had a solid performance in the pole vault, as she topped 9 feet, 4.5 inches. That mark was a career-best outdoor performance.
Jenn Steyer (Fenton, Mich./Lake Fenton) contributed to the success in field events. The sophomore notched a new personal-best in the hammer throw with a toss of 147 feet, 9 inches.
Grace Connolly (Sheridan, Ill./Serena) ran a career-best 27.47 seconds in the 200-meter dash. She also set a new season-best by 0.4 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Courtney Forsythe (West Mansfield, Ohio/Benjamin Logan) added a new personal-best in the 1500-meter run. The junior ran a time of 4:59.16 to beat her pervious personal-record by 50 seconds.
Trine will compete for the MIAA Championship at the event known as Field Day this Thursday and Friday, April 30-May 1.
