Members of Women's Track Team Compete at Oiler Open

FINDLAY, OHIO  --  Select members of the Trine University women's track and field team competed in the annual Oiler Open hosted by the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.

The Thunder had two competitors, both in the weight throw, in senior Kara Eck (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) and sophomore Andrea Hagar (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield).  Eck finished second overall in the event with a distance of 60' 6.50" (18.45m).  Her mark broke her own school record which she sent last season (57' 10.5") and is the current top mark in all of NCAA Division III so far this season.

Hagar finished six spots back in eighth place with a best throw of 41' 10.50" (12.76m).

Members of the track team will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to compete in the Circle Logistics Warrior Invite hosted by Indiana Tech tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 9).  The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
