HILLSDALE, MICH. -- Members of the Trine women's field team competed in the Hillsdale Invitational hosted by Hillsdale (Mich.) College.
Senior Kara Eck (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) competed in the shot put and posted an event-winning distance of 43' 11.25" (13.39 meters), which was over a foot further than her nearest opponent.
Eck also went on to compete in the hammer throw and recorded a best effort of 164' 3.00" (50.06 meters) to place third overall.
Sophomore Andrea Hagar (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) placed second in the discus throw with a mark of 133' 3.00" (40.62 meters).
Freshman Jenny Flora (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield Central) also competed in the discus and finished third after a best toss of 125' 7.00" (38.27 meters). Flora also competed in both the shot put and hammer. She finished fourth in the shot put following a distance of 32' 2.00" (9.80 meters) and fifth in the hammer with a distance of 110' 4.00" (33.64 meters).
Trine is next scheduled to compete in the Indiana Division III Championship hosted by DePauw University on Saturday, Apr. 14. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Greencastle, Ind.
