Women's Outdoor Track & FIeld Compete at Second Day of Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, MICH.  --  Members of the Trine University women's outdoor track and field team competed in the "Gina Relays" hosted by Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich.

The Thunder competed against athletes from all levels, including NCAA Division I, II and III.

Junior Jensyn Garrow (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) and freshman Evonne Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) recorded the top two individual finishes for the women in the running events.  Garrow placed 11th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.39 seconds.  Bultemeyer crossed the finish line in 11th place in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:17.94.

Garrow also ran in the 200-meter dash and placed 23rd overall with a time of 26.85 seconds.

Freshman Abigail Kuhlman (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) competed in a pair of events that included one running event in the 100-meter dash and placed 17th overall with a time of 13.09 seconds.

Kulhman also competed in the long jump and finished 24th following a distance of 16' 5.00" (5.00 meters), falling two inches short of tying the school outdoor record (16' 7.00").

The women's track and field team will conclude the Gina Relays tomorrow (Saturday, Apr. 28).  The first event is scheduled for 10 a.m.
