ALLENDALE, MICH. -- Members of the Trine University women's indoor track & field team traveled to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the unscored Grand Valley State University "Big Meet."
Highlighting the competition for the Thunder was sophomore Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) who improved upon her own school record in the mile run that she set two weeks ago in another meet hosted by Grand Valley. Bultemeyer recorded a time of 4:54.06 in today's meet and placed 10th overall in a field that consisted of athletes from all three NCAA divisions (I, II and III). Bultemeyer bettered her time earlier in the season (4:54.89) by nearly a second at 83 one-hundreths.
Senior Hannah Blystone also competed in the 1-mile run and ran a time of 5:16.06 to finish 45th out of 54 runners.
In addition to Bultemeyer and Blystone, senior Lacie Piekarski (Spring Lake, Mich./Spring Lake) competed in the 5000-meter run and placed 73rd overall among a field of 148 runners with a mark of 18:30.92.
