Bultemeyer, Garrow and Hagar Earn All-MIAA; Bultemeyer Named MVP

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Sophomore Evie Bultemyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), senior Jensyn Garrow (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) and junior Andrea Hagar (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors for their individual championships this past weekend.  In addition, Bultemeyer was tabbed as the "Most Valuable Track" performer.

All three athletes helped play key roles in the women capturing the MIAA Indoor Title, its first since joining the conference.  The Thunder finished as runners up last season and have finished in the top-three the past three years.

Bultemeyer left her mark in the MIAA record books as a two-event champion that included a conference record time in the 800-meter of 2:17.20.  She then went on to capture the 3000-meter run with a winning and school-record time of 10:33.70.  In addition, she placed second in the one-mile run after crossing the finish line in a time of 5:18.52.

Following the conclusion of the championship meet, Bultemeyer became the first Trine runner to earn "Most Valuable Track" performer honors during the indoor season.

Garrow earns her first individuall All-MIAA award after winning the 400-meter dash after running a time of 1:00.01.  She was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay teams the last three seasons for a total of four All-MIAA awards during her indoor career.

Hagar captured her first indoor conference title in the weight throw after posting the top overall mark of 49' 6.50".  She finished third in the event last season, two spots behind former teammate, now assistant throwing coach, Kara Eck. 

Trine is scheduled to compete in the Pointer Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point next Saturday, Mar. 2 in Stevens Point, Wis.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. EST.
