BOSTON, MASS. -- Trine University sophomore indoor track member Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) placed fourth in the mile run at the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet hosted by the University of Massachusetts-Boston in Boston, Mass.
Bultemeyer advanced to the finals after running a preliminary time of 5:03.34 yesterday, she then improved that time in the finals by nearly 10 seconds with a mark of 4:53.48 to place fourth in a field of 10 finalists.
By finishing in the top-eight, Bultemeyer will also earn All-American status in the mile. It marks her first indoor track All-American award.
The women's track & field team will now transition to the outdoor season which will begin with the two-day Emory (Ga.) University Invitational on Friday-Saturday, Mar. 22-23 in Atlanta, Ga.
