Bultemeyer and Obear Named All-American in Indoor Track & Field

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University women's track and field athletes, Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and Valerie Obear (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern), have both been named All-American for their individual efforts during the indoor season.

Due to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship being cancelled, the Division III Track & Field Executive Committee changed the criteria for earning All-American status to include all athletes who qualified in their respective events going into this year's championship meet instead of limiting it to the top-eight finalists since no events were held.

Bultemeyer qualified for the national meet in the mile and had the top ranked time in Division III at 4:56.18.  It was the second straight year that Bultemeyer qualified for the NCAA Meet in the event and finished fourth in 2018-19 to earn her first indoor All-American honor.

Obear qualified for the national indoor meet for the first time in her collegiate career after recording the 16th best distance nationally this season in the weight throw at 56' 10.00."  Her mark came at the MIAA Championship where she finished as the individual event champion.
