Sternberg Named MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  Trine University women's outdoor track runner, Kennedi Sternberg (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Track "Athlete of the Week."

Sternberg was part of a select group of Trine athletes that competed in the Olivet (Mich.) College "Comet Tune-Up" over the weekend.  

Individually, Sternberg won the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.00.  She also ran a leg in Trine's 4x100-meter relay that ran a personal-best time of 50.11 seconds.  Sternberg continues to lead the MIAA in the 100m dash with her time of 12.42 seconds from April 22.

Trine will set its sights on the MIAA Outdoor Championships that begin on Thursday, May 6 and will be hosted by Alma College in Alma, Mich.  The first events on Thursday are scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
