ALLENDALE, Mich. – Evie Bultemeyer [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead], Lydia Randolph [Jefferson, Ohio / Edgewood Senior] and Valerie Obear [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] were sent to Grand Valley State University on Friday to compete for the Trine University women's track and field team in the Holiday Open.

Bultemeyer and Randolph each competed in the 5000 meter run. In the final, Bultemeyer finished in eighth place with a time of 16:45.31 to break the school record. Randolph completed the event with a time of 18:22.4, setting a baseline personal best as a freshman.

Obear was a competitor in the women's weight throw, and placed sixth overall. Her longest throw was 17.31 meters (56' 9.5").

Despite having just three competing athletes, Trine scored enough points to score a 15th place team finish.

The Thunder will continue competition at the University of Mount Union on Saturday, December 4 in the Toy Drive Invite.
