Gladieux, Miller and Obear Qualify for Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three student-athletes from the Trine University track and field program have qualified for the 2022 NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships on Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12.

Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer], Evie Miller [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] and Valerie Obear [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] will represent the Thunder in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the JDL Fast Track.

Gladieux qualified for the 60-meter hurdles and has the ninth-fastest seed time at 8.14 seconds. Miller will compete in two events: the mile run and 3000-meter run. The senior has the second-fastest mile seed time in DIII at 4:47.96 and is fifth in the 3000 (9:37.54). At 19.00 meters, Obear will go into the weight throw event with the second-best seed mark.

This will be the first indoor track and field national championship event since 2019 after two straight were cancelled due to COVID-19.
