Three School Records Go Down on Saturday for Trine Women's Track and Field

MARIAN, Ind. – The Trine University women's track and field team finished seventh at the Little State Championships in day two action on Saturday, but three school records were broken at the event.

Haley Livingston [Fort Worth, Texas / Everman] secured new school record marks in both hurdle events: the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. In the 100, she secured a fourth-place finish of 14.57 seconds and won the 400 with a time of 1:05.83. The 400 time knocked down a time set by Jensyn Garrow in 2019.

Valerie Obear [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] also secured Trine's new best hammer throw. She won the event at 59.50 meters (195' 2.5"). That breaks a mark set by Kara Eck is 2017. She also scored team points in the discus with a sixth-place toss of 41.19 meters (135' 1.75").

The trio of Lydia Randolph [Jefferson, Ohio / Edgewood Senior], Alli Smith [Temperance, Mich. / Temperance Bedford], and Chloe Goodrich [Burlington, Ind. / Carroll] all scored points in the 5000-meter run. Randolph was fifth at 19:06.38 while Smith placed seventh (19:32.89) and Goodrich eighth (19:34.39).

The 4x100-meter relay team were fifth-place finishers with a time of 50.42 seconds, just off the standing school record.

Up next, the Thunder will compete in the Lancer Invitational at Grace College on Friday, April 29.
