Madelyn Summers Wins First Career MIAA Athlete of the Week Award

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Madelyn Summers of the Trine University women's track and field team has been named Women's Field Athlete of the Week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) for the first time in her career.

The senior from Kendallville, Indiana and East Noble High School competed in the shot put and weight throw for the Thunder. She finished second overall in both events, but was the highest-scoring NCAA DIII student-athlete in both. Summers threw 11.65 meters (38' 2.75") in the shot put and 13.38 meters (43' 10.75") in the weight throw.

The next event Trine will participate in is the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Invitational set for Saturday, December 10 at the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
