Pair of Event Victories Highlight Mastodon Invitational for Trine Women

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – At the Mastodon Invitational, the Trine University women's track and field team was in action on Saturday at Purdue-Fort Wayne. No team scores were recorded at the event.

There were two event victories for the Thunder. In the 3000-meter run, Lydia Randolph was first-place with a time of 10:24.89, a new personal best. Emma Forker was also champion of the long jump on Saturday. She scored 5.34 meters (17' 6.25") in the event.

The pole vault event saw a pair of Trine student-athletes tie for second on the leaderboard. Avery Boyce and Morgan Moslow tied by reaching a height of 2.96 meters (9' 8.50").

The sprint events saw several members of the Thunder roster bring home top finishes. Mackenzie Miller was the top finisher in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. She finished sixth in the 60 at 8.12 seconds, with an 8.07-second preliminary time, and fourth at 27.36 seconds in the 200. Marissa Kenney was seventh overall in the 800-meter run after completing the race in 2:29.11.

The team of Brynn Mericle, Adrianne Jackson, Aumrie Weiss and Kristin Baker took part in the 4x400-meter relay. The squad placed fourth with a time of 4:21.27. In the distance medley relay, Trine put together a team that included Brianna Medcalf, Emily Wahl, Amira Faulkner and Randolph. They were third at 12:46.46.

The Thunder will be in action once again on Saturday, January 28 for the Aurora Grand Prix in Chicago, Illinois.
