Trine Women First Place at Mrs. G Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's track team was victorious in their home meet, the Mrs. G Invitational from the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC). The Thunder concluded the event with 135 points, while Madonna University was second-place at 95 points.

Trine dominated the middle-distance races to accumulate a good chunk of team points. Thunder student-athletes were 1-5 in the mile run, led by Lydia Randolph with a race-winning time of 5:14.41. Behind her were Ana Parker (5:22.23) and Brianna Medcalf (5:26.86). In the 800-meter run, Randolph was second overall with Amira Faulkner behind her in third (2:23.91) and Marissa Kenney keeping pace in fourth (2:26.02).

Emma Forker was an event winner as well by claiming the top spot in the long jump. She went 5.10 meters (16' 8.75") to top the field. Placing runner up in other field events included Avery Boyce in the pole vault (3.05 meters / 10' 0.00") and Chloe Bard in the shot put (11.58 meters / 38' 0.00"). Trine's 4x400-meter relay team finished second with a time of 4:16.58. On the relay team were Kristin Baker, Abby Robison, Brynn Mericle and Adrianne Jackson.

Mackenzie Miller was the top scoring Trine student-athlete in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Miller finished third overall in the 60-meter event with a time of 8.04 seconds. She was fourth in the 200-meter dash at 26.79 seconds.

To conclude field events, Madelyn Summers was fourth in the weight throw at 13.94 meters (45' 9.00"). The duo of Brooklynn Rettig and Lia Vawter were fourth in the high jump. They reached a height of 1.42 meters (4' 7.75").

The next meet for the Trine women's track and field team is the Midwest Elite Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday, February 11.
