Trine Competes at Hillsdale Tune-Up

HILSDALE, Mich. – A select few from the Trine University women's track and field team were in action at the Hillsdale Tune-Up on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunder saw Madelyn Summers take fourth in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw to lead the team in both events. Summers went 12.33 meters (40' 5.50") in the shot put and 13.78 meters (45' 2.50") in the weight throw. Other top scorers included Chloe Bard (fifth) in the shot put at 11.59 meters (38' 0.25") and Kassandra Swank (sixth) at 11.29 meters (37' 0.50").

In running events, Peyton Schuring was second in the 60-meter dash (8.60 seconds) and fourth in the 200-meter dash (29.65 seconds). Paige Aselage was seventh overall in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:12.87. Trine went 1-2-3 in the mile run with Grace Huisman (6:03.46), Katie Berlew (6:20.71) and Rebecca Schaffner (6:47.62).

The women's track and field team is at home on Saturday, February 25 for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships beginning at 11 a.m.
