Moslow Breaks School Record at Little State Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Trine University women's track and field team placed 10th at the Little State Championships after two days of events at Indiana Wesleyan University. The host institution were the team champions on the women's side.

Looking back at field results that were entered late Thursday night, Morgan Moslow was able to secure a new school record mark in the pole vault. She placed third with a new personal best height of 3.25 meters (10' 8.00"). The Thunder also received a pair of 12th-place finishes from Madelyn Summers in the hammer throw (43.20 meters / 141' 9.00") and Chloe Bard in the discus (40.09 meters / 131' 6.00"). Brooklynn Rettig was 13th overall in the high jump at 1.45 meters (4' 9.00").

Friday's results were highlighted by an event win from Brianna Medcalf. She went 17:35.96 to claim first in the 5000-meter event. Also scoring points for the team were Brynn Mericle in the 400-meter hurdles, Malena Ricks in the javelin and Mackenzie Miller in the 200-meter run. Mericle was fifth with a time of 1:07.86, while Ricks placed sixth overall at 30.22 meters (99' 2.00") and Miller ran a 26.40-second time in her event to place eighth.

Other top scorers included Katie Berlew who was 11th in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 12:48.21, Amira Faulkner who placed 12th in the 800-meter run at 2:24.91 and Marissa Kenney who was also 12th at 5:02.05 in the 1500-meter run. Zharia Dodson was inside the top-20 in the shot put with a 19th-place throw of 10.94 meters (35' 10.75"). Anissa Rios was 25th in the 400-meter dash (1:05.83).

The next event on the schedule for the Thunder is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Outdoor Championships on May 4-5 at Olivet College.
