Thunder Complete Indiana Little States Championships on Saturday

MARIAN, Ind. – The Trine University women's track and field team ended ninth at the 2024 Little State Championships on Saturday. The University of Indianapolis were the team champions after scoring 134.5 points, narrowly topping Taylor University to claim the title.

A pair of field events saw multiple scoring members for Trine. Mackenzie Miller was third in the long jump at 5.30 meters (17' 4.75") while Kristin Baker was close behind in seventh at 4.98 meters (16' 4.25"). The pole vault saw Avery Boyce place sixth after reaching a height of 3.10 meters (10' 2.00") and Morgan Moslow also recorded a point with an eighth-place spot at 2.95 meters (9' 8.00").

Isabel Ferguson nearly met her own school record mark in the high jump at 1.55 meters (5' 1.00"), good for sixth place on the leaderboard.

In relay events, the 4x400-meter relay team was fourth overall. The squad consisting of Bailey Puckett, Brynn Mericle, Halle Overmire and Marissa Kenney finished with a time of 4:18.03. In the 4x100-meter relay, Aniyah Small, Emma Forker, Kaleigh Maschino and Miller were sixth at 49.58 seconds.

Puckett was also the team's top finisher in the 1500-meter race. She was fifth overall with a time of 4:46.12. Adrianne Jackson nabbed a point for the Thunder during the 400-meter hurdles when she recorded a time of 1:10.21 to score an eighth-place spot.

The Extra Weekend Meet at Grand Valley State University is next on the schedule for the team on Saturday, April 27.
