Trine Triathlon Competes at Central Regional Qualifier

WATAUGA, TENN.  --  The Trine University women's triathlon team competed in its second event of the season with the Central Regional Qualifier hosted by East Tennessee State University in Watauga, Tenn.

Kyra Warren led Trine individually completing all three stages and finishing with an overall time of 53:33.0.  Warren posted best overall time amongst the team in the final stage, the 5k run, with a mark of 11:10.0.  She began the day with a time of 6:44.0 in the 750-meter swim and then followed that with a time of 31:16.0 in the 12-mile bike segment.

The Thunder had two additional athletes finish the event in Catherine Porter and Katie Kline.  Porter started her race with a mark of 7:46.0 in the swim and then posted a team-best time of 30:28.0 in the bike.  She ended her race with a time of 13:30.0 in the run to record an overall time of 56:12.0 to place 29th.

Kline led the team out of the water following a time of 6:32.0.  She then recorded times of 36:23.0 in the bike and 12:28.0 in the run for an event time of 59:28.0 which was 32nd best.  

Montana Hermann also competed for Trine and completed the swim portion with a mark of 6:50.0, but was unable to complete the overall race.

Trine's next event will be the East Regional Qualifier on Saturday, Oct. 20  in Smith Mountain Lake, Va.
