Volleyball Drops Match to Bluffton

BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Trine women's volleyball team lost their match against Bluffton University in three highly contested sets (19-25, 22-25, 20-25).

Freshman Emma Gaff (Hamilton/Hamilton) led the team offensively with 11 kills. She also accumulated a .321 hitting percentage. Junior Shannon Scott (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) was second on the team with eight kills.

Senior Samantha Ihrie (Kendallville/East Noble) led the team with 16 assists, while junior Raven Hood (Monroe, Mich./Airport) was just behind her with 14 assists. Ihrie also added 10 digs, third most for the team in the game, and three service aces to her stat line.

Freshman Lindsey DeCamp (New Haven/New Haven) led the team in digs with 15. Fellow freshman Madison Munger (Indianapolis/Franklin) was second with 13.

The Thunder will look to bounce back from the loss tomorrow, Sept. 16, when they compete in pair of matches at the Bluffton hosted invitational. Trine faces Marietta College at 11:00 a.m. and Allegheny College at 1:00 p.m.
