Women's Volleyball Team Announces Summer Camps

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine women's volleyball program has announced dates for several upcoming camps, with different options available for different ages and levels of play.

The Thunder will be hosting four camps this summer. The camps will begin with the first of two camps geared toward high school players. The Overnight Advanced Skills Camp will be held Saturday, July 14 - Sunday, July 15. Participants will receive eight hours of position-specific instruction spread across three sessions. Specific instruction is available for setting, attacking and defensive skills. Cost of the camp is $150 for an overnight camper or $125 for a commuter. Meals are included in the camp fee.

The second camp geared toward high school players will be the "Get Ready for Tryouts" Camp held on Sunday, July 29. The camp is designed to provide in-depth training of a particular set of skills with game-like situations at the end of the season. Position and skill-specific session are available for attacking, setting, defense, passing and service. Cost of the camp is $50 per camper.

The team's Middle School Day Camp will be held Monday, July 23 - Wednesday, July 25. The camp will run from 9 - 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. The camp is designed to give campers a well-rounded knowledge of the game and will include basic skills, position understanding, technique, movement work, and an overall flow of the game. Cost of the camp is $130, or $150 with lunch included.

The team's final summer camp will be their Youth Camp, geared toward athletes in grades three through six. The evening camp will run from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 23 - Thursday, July 26. The camp is specifically designed to introduce young athletes to the sport of volleyball in a fun and motivational environment. The cost of the camp is $40.
