Women's Volleyball Finish Day One with 1-1 Record

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Trine University women's volleyball team started the season with a win and a loss as they participated in the first day of the Roger William's Invitational.

The Thunder started the day by dropping their first match to a tough Augsburg (Minn.) University team by three sets to one. The Thunder's lone set victory came in the third when they defeated the Auggies by the score of 25-21.

Sophomore Madison Munger (Indianapolis / Franklin Central) led the way for Trine in the loss. She finished the first match of the season with a team-high 14 kills. She would also add 13 digs and a blocking assist to her stat-line in the contest. Sophomore Lindsey DeCamp (New Haven / New Haven) led the team with 18 digs, while senior Raven Hood (Monroe, Mich. / Airport) led the way with 21 assists.

The Thunder found redemption in the second match of the day, defeating Montclair State (N.J.) University by three sets to one.

Munger once again made an impact offensively finishing tied with senior Shannon Scott (Vicksburg, Mich. / Vicksburg) for the lead in kills. Hood once again led the way in assists and DeCamp led the way in digs.

The Thunder finished the day with a 1-1 record. They will continue Roger Williams Invitational play tomorrow, Sept. 1, when they take on Alfred (N.Y.) University at 9 a.m. and then finish with host Roger Williams University at 1 p.m.
