Thunder Sweep Host Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Trine University women's volleyball team took down host Manchester University in commanding fashion by sweeping the opposition 3-0.

The first two sets were close affairs with the Thunder winning by just two points in each. But in the third the Thunder finished the match with a decisive 10 point victory.

Sophomore Madison Munger (Indianapolis / Franklin Central) led the way offensively for Trine finishing the contest with 11 kills. Senior Shannon Scott (Vicksburg, Mich. / Vicksburg) and sophomore Sarah Toles (Kendallville / East Noble) both came in second with six kills each.

Toles added to her night by also finishing second with four total blocks. Senior Morgan Harris (Crown Point / Merrillville) finished first on the team with six total blocks.

The Thunder improve to 10-10 following the victory. They will return to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play when they travel to face Albion on Wednesday, October 24 for their next match.
