ANGOLA, Ind. -- Junior Jacqueline Baughman (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lutheran Northwest) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Volleyball Specialist of the Week.
This is the first time in her career that Baughman has earned the award. She is the second Thunder team member to take a weekly award season.
Baughman finished last week's four contests with 164 assists to average 9.1 assists per set as the Thunder went 3-1. She added 17 kills of her own along with four total blocks and 34 digs.
She came up huge in the Thunder's first MIAA victory of the season, a 3-2 win over Adrian College. She finished that contest with 34 assists, 13 digs, four blocks and eight kills. She recorded her second-highest assists total of the week with 42 in the team's 3-1 win over Olivet College.
Trine currently sits at 11-6 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA. They continue their season with another MIAA contest against Alma College on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The contest is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
