ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine University women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over their hosts from Adrian College.

The first set of the contest was a back and forth one with six ties throughout the frame, the last coming at 18-18. From there the Thunder went on a 7-1 run to seemingly put away the set with the 24-19 lead. But the Bulldogs strung together four straight before Trine pushed through the final point for the 25-23 win.

The second set once again saw both teams hold leads with nine ties in the first half of the set. The final tie came at 15-15 and from there the Thunder found their groove and scored five straight points before ultimately take the set with the score of 25-18.

Trine took an early lead in the third set, reeling off the three straight scores to start. Adrian pulled back and once again the set settled into a back and forth rhythm. The final tie this time came at 23-23 and the Thunder took the final two points to finish off the set without heading into extra points at 25-23.

Senior Madison Munger (Indianapolis, Ind. / Franklin Central) led the way offensively with 10 kills in the contest. Sophomore Paris Outwater (Bronson, Mich. / Bronson) came up huge at the service line finishing the contest with five aces. Sophomore Joslynn Battle (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell) finished with a team-high 20 assists and senior Lindsey DeCamp (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) came in with 18 digs.

The Thunder will faceoff with Adrian again on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The match will take place at home and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
