ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine University women's wrestling team sent a lone student athlete to the 2022 National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships hosted by Adrian College and junior Riley Morrison turned in a strong performance at the event.
After a tough opening round loss, Morrison bounced back in the consolation bracket. She received a bye through the first round and then won her second-round match with a pin at the 2:40 mark of the match.
In round three she won even more decisively needing just 32 seconds to pin her opponent and advance.
She would just miss out on wrestling for a top spot in the consolation bracket with a loss in the fourth round. After early success in the match including a near third straight pin, she was pinned at the 2:15 mark of the match.
