ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's wrestling team picked up their second team win of the season defeating visiting Rochester (Mich.) University by the score of 33-1. It is the first dual victory at home for the program.

The night began with a pair of wins by forfeit for the Thunder with both Rayne Snyder and Bella Burke receiving five team points for the easy victories.

In the first contested match of the day, Madison Small found herself trailing early in the second half, but a buzzer-beating takedown gave the freshman a win by the narrowest of margins, 8-7.

Hailey Budney built on the momentum and scored a first period pin at 155, needing just 1:43 to earn five team points for Trine. Ashton Francis followed up by receiving a forfeit in the 191 match to make the dual score 23-1, with just two matches remaining.

Senior Riley Morrison recorded the quickest win of the dual in the 116 match, pinning her opponent in just 49 seconds. Michaela Dykes finished off the victory with a final pin, coming at 2:05 in the 123 match.

Michelle Sanchez won an extra 116 match, held following the conclusion of the dual, pinning her opponent at the one-minute mark.

The team will finish their season when they head to nationals set to be contested in the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The event is scheduled to start on Friday, March 8.
