CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Riley Morrison of the Trine University women's wrestling team won a pair of matches at the 2024 National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships, but ultimately bowed out of the event on the first day.
Morrison opened the day with a blazing quick victory over her opponent from Aurora University. The senior secured the 10-0 tech fall victory in just under a minute. The win sent her into a match with the top seed in the bracket where she was defeated by pin.
Dropping to the consolation bracket, Morrison won another quick match, pinning her opponent at the 1:39 mark of the first period. Once again, a loss fell on the heels of the win, this time in a 12-6 decision.
