Ganger, McCoy Sweep MIAA Runner of the Week Awards

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine University's Austin Ganger and Ariel McCoy as its Runners of the Week in cross country for meets through Sept. 22. The honors are the first for any Trine University runner since the inception of the award during the 2011 season.

Ganger, a freshman from Mishawaka, Ind. (Mishawaka HS), was Trine's fastest runner at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet hosted by IU, running a time of 27:39.11 on a wet, muddy and hilly 8-kilometer course. Ganger placed 30th overall in the small college division (non-DI schools). He is being honored as Runner of the Week for the first time in his career.

 

McCoy, a sophomore from Garrett, Ind. (Garrett HS), led the Thunder with a time of 20:56.13 over the 5-kilometer course at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet. McCoy finished in 42nd place in the small college division. She is being honored as Runner of the Week for the first time in her career.
