ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine women's cross country team has released their 2014 race schedule, the team announced Monday.
The Thunder will compete in eight races this season. Trine opens with the Manchester College Hokum Karem Thursday, Aug. 28. The Thunder will host Trine Cross Country Invitational Friday, Sep. 5. The race will be run on the Zollner Golf Course. The race will be the first hosted by Trine at the Zollner Golf Course since the 2011 MIAA-Jamboree.
Trine will be making a return trip to the Indiana Intercollegiate Sep. 19. The Thunder placed 13th in the event last season. A site has not yet been determined for the 2014 race.
The team could race up to three times at Wilmington College. The NCAA Division III Pre-National Meet (Sep. 27) and Great Lakes Regional (Nov. 15) races will both be held at the school, with the potential for the Thunder to also compete in the National Championship race at Wilmington.
The MIAA-Jamboree (Oct. 4) and MIAA Championship (Nov. 1) sites have yet to be determined. The Jamboree counts 1/3 towards the MIAA standings, while the Championship determines the remaining 2/3. Last season, the Thunder placed seventh in the conference.
Also on the schedule is a trip to the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational (Oct. 18).
