WILMINGTON, OHIO-- The Trine women's cross country team placed 25th in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, held Saturday at Wilmington College.
Thunder runners earned scores totaling 736 points in the race. Courtney Forsythe (West Mansfield, Ohio/Benjamin Logan) earned Trine's best finish on the day, placing 87th overall. Forsythe's time of 23:44 marked a career-best time in the 6K. She improved her 6K time over the course of the season by 2:23. MIAA-member Calvin took home the Great Lakes Region title with 61 points. All five of the Knights' point-earners finished in the top-25.

Freshman Heather Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./South Side) finished second among Trine runners with a career-best time of 24:11. That topped her previous-best by slightly over one minute. Kelsey Ortiz (Swanton, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) finished third among Thunder runners with a time of 24:46.
Kyla Binfet (West Yellowstone, Mont./West Yellowstone) and Adrea Ayres (Eastlake, Ohio/North) rounded out Trine's top five runners. Binfet set a personal best by 15 seconds, while Ayres topped her previous season-best by 32 seconds.
The Great Lakes Regional wraps up the 2014 season for the Thunder.
