Trine Women's Cross Country Competes at Oshkosh Invite

WINNECONNE, WIS.  --  The Trine University women's cross country team competed in the Kollege Town Sports Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.

The event was comprised of six races (three men's and three women's) with both teams competing in the Pre-National and Open races.  In the women's Pre-National race, the Thunder finished with 718 team points to finish 24th out of 52 schools.

Sophomore Evonne Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) had the top overall time for Trine on the 6k course of 22:53.7 which was good enough for 34th place of 349 runners.  Senior Lacie Piekarski (Spring Lake, Mich./Spring Lake) followed with a time of 23:28.5 and sophomore Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) had the third fastest time of 24:15.7.

Freshman Chloe Brittain (Wheeler, Mich./Breckenridge) was the third Trine runner to cross the finish line and completed the course with a mark of 25:03.4.  Sophomore Ruthie Luebcke (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) finished fourth on the team after running a time of 25:18.5 and was followed by fellow sophomore Stacy Dibley (Bristol, Ind./Elkhart Central) who ran a time of 25:45.0.

Sophomore Miranda Coombs (Lexington, Mich./Croswell-Lexington) clipped the tape at 29:24.8 to complete the list of competitors for Trine in the event.

Trine had a lone runner compete in the 6k "Open" race in freshman Madi Howard (Stockbridge, Mich./Stockbridge) who posted an individual time of 29:34.2 and placed 287th out of 328 runners.  

Trine will next compete in the annual Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic AssociationChampionship hosted by Kalamazoo (Mich.) College on Saturday, Oct. 27.  The men's race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
