WINNECONNE, WIS. -- Trine University women's cross country runner, Evonne Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) represented the Thunder at the 2018 NCAA Division III National Meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.
Bultemeyer competed as an individual in the race and placed 55th overall in a field of 279 total runners. She completed the 6k course in a time of 22:13.2.
Bultemeyer was the first women's runner at Trine to qualify for the national meet since the school joined the NCAA in 2004.
Washington (Mo.) University captured the women's Division III National Title with an overall team score of 98 points. John Hopkins (Md.) University was second with 99 points and Massachusetts Institute of Technology was third at 247 points. The Michigan Intecollegiate Athletic Association had two schools compete in the team standings in Hope (Mich.) College and Calvin (Mich.) College. The two finished back-to-back with Hope placing 24th (555 points) and Calvin was 25th (567 points).
