NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- The Trine University women's cross country team has earned academic team and individual honors by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
As a team, the Thunder posted a cumulative 3.55 grade point average in the Fall 2018 semester to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades.
For a team to be considered for this honor, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Overall, there were 393 teams honored by the USTFCCCA, of which 215 were women's teams.
In addition, two members of the women's cross country team earned individual recognition in sophomores Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll).
In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. There were 682 total student-athletes (men and women) who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors with women accounting for 56 percent of that total (382).
