Bultemeyer Finishes Eighth at NCAA National Meet

LOUISVILLE, KY.  --  Trine University women's cross country runner Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) competed in the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship hosted at the Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.

Bultemeyer was the lone representative for Trine in the race and finished eighth among 277 total athletes with a time of 21:27.6.  Her top-10 finish in the meet will earn her All-American status.

"Evie had a really good race and a fantastic season," said Head Coach Zach Raber.  "She was able to find the lead group early and then hang with the chase pack throughout the race.  She had another big finish to pick up a few girls at the end."

Bultemeyer ends a standout season in which she captured four individual event titles that included the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship and the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet.  In addition, she posted the top overall times at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble (20:56.1 - school record) and the Calvin (Mich.) College Knight Invitational (21:29.0 - school record) early in the season.

She was named the 2019 MIAA "Most Valuable Runner" as well as the Great Lakes Region "Athlete of the Year."

The 2019 cross country season officially closes with the completion of the national meet.
