Trine Ranked 27th in Week Eight Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Trine University women's cross country team qualified for the NCAA DIII Championship meet with an at-large bid and in the final week leading into the event, are ranked 27th in the nation, according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Trine moved up five spots from 32nd in the week seven ratings and were tied for the second biggest mover in the poll.

Last weekend, the Thunder were able to secure a fifth-place finish at the Great Lakes Regional, defeating Allegheny College in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), who were previously ranked 21st in NCAA DIII and third in the region. Additionally, Trine was able to surpass Haverford College, Colorado College, Smith College and the University of Lynchburg after regionals.

The NCAA DIII Cross Country Championship meet will take place this Saturday, November 20 at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 12 pm.
