Thunder 15th in Loaded Field at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Trine University women's cross country team competed in the Augustana Interregional Rumble on Saturday morning, the final event before the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. The Thunder were 15th out of 42 teams, some of which were the top contending teams to win the NCAA Division III national championship this season.

Sophomore Bailey Puckett was the team leader with a time of 23:33.7. That is her new career-best and enough to place 78th overall. Also placing inside the top-100 for Trine was sophomore Chloe Goodrich and junior Lydia Randolph. Goodrich was 91st at 23:45.3 while Randolph ran a 23:49.9 to secure the 100th spot in the 6k event.

Sophomore Eleanor Young was just behind that group with a time of 23:51.2, good for 102nd and a new career-best 6k time in her young career. Junior Hannah Parker concluded the scoring for the team at 24:27.0. Sophomore Sidney Swick (24:50.7) and senior Marissa Kenney (25:25.3) served as blockers for the squad. The time by Swick is a new career-best.

Postseason play begins for the Thunder on Saturday, October 28 with the MIAA Championships. Action begins at 11 a.m.
